Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Logistics and Purchasing Manager to oversee our supply chain operations, focusing on logistics management, freight negotiations, and purchasing for production. This role is crucial to ensuring cost-effective and timely delivery of materials and maintaining seamless production operations. The ideal candidate is an exceptional negotiator with strong organizational skills and a deep understanding of logistics and procurement processes.

Key Responsibilities

Logistics Management

  • Oversee all aspects of logistics, including inbound and outbound freight, transportation, and delivery timelines.
  • Negotiate and manage contracts with freight carriers, logistics providers, and transportation vendors to achieve cost savings and improved service levels.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with freight carriers to ensure competitive rates and reliability.
  • Monitor and optimize shipping schedules, routes, and methods to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
  • Track shipments and resolve any delivery or logistical issues promptly.


Purchasing for Production

  • Utilize ERP system to manage procurement of raw materials, components, and other goods required for production.
  • Research and source reliable suppliers, ensuring quality, price competitiveness, and timely delivery.
  • Negotiate contracts and terms with vendors, focusing on cost reduction and favorable payment terms.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, supplier agreements, and inventory levels.
  • Collaborate with production and inventory teams to forecast demand and align procurement activities accordingly.


Cost Management and Strategy

  • Continuously analyze market trends, freight rates, and supplier costs to identify opportunities for cost optimization.
  • Implement strategies to improve supply chain efficiency and reduce expenses without compromising quality.
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) for freight and procurement operations, tracking progress and implementing improvements.


Collaboration and Communication

  • Work closely with production, finance, and warehouse teams to ensure alignment on material needs and delivery schedules.

Summary Of Duties

The production associate is responsible for daily production duties of in-house manufacturing. This person will work with the production manager and other associates to meet production needs and schedules. The associate will be, in part, responsible for the care and maintenance of the production equipment and facility. This associate will report to the Production Shift Supervisor and Plant Manager.

Required Competencies
  • Machines and equipment: Proficient with powered manufacturing equipment and material handling systems to produce finished goods in bulk.
  • Warehouse operations: Comfortable working in a warehouse environment with the ability to learn the operation of equipment, learn shipping and receiving procedures, and handling of finished goods.
  • Active Listening: Follow verbal and written instructions, ask questions when appropriate.
  • Physical Strength: Able to lift up to 50lbs repetitively, stand, and undergo continuous bending
    and reaching for periods up to 10hrs/day.
  • Safety: Ensure the physical safety of oneself and one’s co-workers at all times. Follow all safety-
    related guidelines and instructions given by supervisors and coworkers to safely operate and
    clean machines.
  • Computer Software: Ability to operate windows based PC and Microsoft applications (i.e. Word,
    Excel, Google, etc.)
  • Attendance: Must have reliable transportation and be able to work for all assigned shifts
Preferred Competencies
  • Concrete material production: Concrete and or masonry construction experience is a plus.
  • Warehouse Management: Warehouse organization/management a plus.
  • Dried Materials Bagging: Experience with bulk bagging of dried materials is a plus.

Summary Of Duties

The Director of Product Development is responsible for directing all processes in the product lifecycle. You will drive and update product and market research, competitor analysis, planning, positioning, specification and building code compliance/ testing, roadmap development, and product launch. This position will work closely and collaborate with business development, marketing, research and development, and manufacturing. Additional relationships will be fostered with distributors, vendors, and customers.

  • Development and align product strategy with business goals 
  • Create products which accomplish synergies with business, technology, user experience, and feasibility
  • Analyze market trends and potential partnerships from a ROI perspective
  • Create, assess, update, and communicate a clear product vision and strategy
  • Collaboration with cross-functional teams to define requirements and product roadmap
  • Development and tracking of the backlog of product(s) and bid activity
  • Successfully plan product launches by collaborating with business development and marketing
  • Forecast and budget management
Qualifications

Successfully deploy a product strategy that embraces low carbon strategies and provides longevity to a robust portfolio of products.

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or equivalent field
  • Minimum of 5 years of a proven track record for deploying successful product campaigns 
  • Experience within the building materials industry, preferred; sand and gravel, cement, ready mix, or admixtures.
  • Solid understanding of product management tools and processes
  • Strong communication skills – effective communication both written and verbal 
  • Experience with communicating/ collaborating with industry experts (Architects and Engineers)
  • Understanding and/or knowledge of key high-level industry standards relating to cement, concrete, and aggregates
  • Strong understanding of business-to-business sales cycles, strategies, and key metrics
  • Experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software and reporting
  • Financial and business acumen (budget, forecasting, and pricing strategies)
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills
  • Knowledge or experience with sustainability, LEED, and carbon reduction targets
